Picture in your mind the breathtaking beauty of Tuscany—the gentle rolling hills blanketed with vineyards and olive groves, ancient stone buildings standing proudly amidst cypress trees, and the aroma of fresh Italian cuisine drifting through the warm air. Here, every sunrise paints the landscape in golden hues, and every sunset invites you to slow down and savour the moment. Tuscany is a place where history, nature, and culinary delights come together, creating the perfect backdrop for a transformative yoga retreat.

Now, imagine sharing this experience with a circle of women—each of us gathering to move, rest, and reconnect with ourselves and each other. Join Joey and me as we guide you through seven days of nourishment, laughter, and discovery in the heart of Tuscany. This retreat is designed for women who long for a pause from daily life, a space to breathe deeply, and a chance to rediscover their inner strength and serenity. Together, we’ll create memories, foster new friendships, and embrace the unique journey that unfolds for each of us.

The Rhythm of our Days

This retreat is an invitiation to slow down and step away from the pace of everyday life.   Set amid the rolling hills and timeless beauty of the Tuscan countryside, each day unfolds at an unhurried, intentional pace – offering a true pause from the outside world.

Our time together is thoughtfully curated to balance guided experiences with ample space to simply be.  There is room for mindful movement and deep rest, quiet reflection  and shared connection – allowing each day to unfold naturally.

Mornings arrive softly in Tuscany – light spilling over the hills,  We begin each day with a gentle yoga, moving and breathing together as the countryside awakens around us.  Breakfast unfolds slowly, mid morning workshops invite thoughtful reflection, and lunches stretch long into the afternoon, all prepared by our local chef.

The afternoons belong to you; sun-warmed hours in the Tuscan sun by the pool, wandering cobblestone streets in nearby villages, quite walks through the hills, or simply rest with a good book and class of wine.

Evenings bring us back together around the table, sharing food, warm conversation, laughter and connection.  As night falls, we wind down with a soothing meditation, allowing the day to setlle before retreating into rest beneth a sky full of stars.

Our Private Villa – Locanda del Gallo

Locanda del Gallo, our private villa for the week is surrounded by 28 hectares of woodland, terraced lawns and gardens nestled in the Italian hills between Gubbio and Perugia. This stout brick buildings of Locanda del Gallo have been watching over the Umbrian hills for the past 800 years or so. Discover ancient stone walls sculpted by time, cool and welcoming rooms adorned with exotic antique furniture, and manicured lawns dotted with olive trees, lavender, and rosemary. Bask in the sun by the pool,  enjoy a relaxing turkish bath or the wrap around veranda all providing a stunning backdrop for relaxation and contemplation.

The Town – Umbria

One of the best things to do in Umbria is to explore the medieval hill towns that are scattered across the region. Built defensively on high ground and mountain slopes, these stone cities have stood since the Middle Ages and retain much of their charm. Umbria is Italy’s only landlocked region. It offers all the benefits of Tuscany – medieval towns, world-class wineries, delicious cuisine, beautiful views, excellent hospitality, and more. Gubbio, Perugia, Assisi, Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto. All Umbria’s medieval towns are filled with history and treasures. Ancient streets and alleyways are flanked with palaces and elegant houses, delightful shops and boutiques, and of course breathtaking views glimpsed from many a street corner..

Yoga Studio

A dedicated Yoga Studio is available over looking the beautiful landscape fully equipped with yoga props.

The Food

Italian cuisine is a celebration of fresh, local ingredients and time-honoured traditions. In Tuscany, every meal is an experience—think hand-rolled pasta tossed with fragrant herbs, ripe tomatoes bursting with flavour, and golden olive oil pressed from nearby groves. Enjoy rustic breads, creamy cheeses, and vibrant salads, all paired with regional wines. Each dish is crafted with care, inviting you to slow down and savour the simple pleasures of the table. From leisurely breakfasts to candlelit dinners, the food in Tuscany nourishes both body and soul, making every bite a memorable part of your retreat journey.

Joey Henderson

Joey Henderson stepped into her first yoga class in 2005, seeking a sense of peace and balance while working in a demanding role as a women’s caseworker at a Shelter for abused women and children. Though the work was meaningful, the emotional toll began to affect her well-being. Yoga quickly became a refuge,  a place to reconnect, reset, and begin healing from the inside out. As her personal practice deepened, so did her curiosity about the "why" behind the sense of calm and clarity she felt after each class. That curiosity evolved into passion, leading Joey to complete her RYT 200 in 2011 with Sheree Nicholson. Just a few months later, with the encouragement of family and friends, she became the proud owner of the studio that helped spark her transformation, reopening its doors in January 2012. Now an experienced RYT 500 and Reiki Master, Joey has guided hundreds of students through yoga classes, retreats, and teacher trainings. She’s known for creating warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental spaces that encourage deep rest, self-discovery, and genuine connection. Joey believes yoga is for every body, adaptable, inclusive, and transformative in its many forms. Whether you're new to the mat or deepening your journey, she’s here to help you find your breath, your center, and your way home to yourself.
